What are the important websites that I need to visit for NEET?
- The official website of the Board for NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST is www.aipmt.nic.in. All the test related information will be available on this website.
- The official websites for counselling related information under 15% All India seats are:
- Ministry of Health & Family Welfare – www.mohfw.nic.in and

Things to remember about the entrance exam:
- NEET is conducted between the month of May and July.
- CBSE board conducts all the examination.
- Registration is done online only though the official website of NEET and the exmaintaion is done offline.
- The registration fee is non-refundable.
- Maths is not required to appear in NEET II.
- Admit cards will not be sent to candidates. These will be uploaded on website. Candidates need to download the Admit Card from the website only. This facility will remain operation till one day prior to the day of examination i.e. 23rd July, 2016. Thus, download the Admit Card within stipulated time only.
- Like any other entrance, the exam is conducted in few centres and the list is uploaded on the official website.
- There were two phrases of NEET exam this year:
- NEET I which is the All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Examination schedule for 1st May, 2016 has been considered as Phase-I of NEET.
- NEET II which is the second phase of NEET only for the current year to give the opportunity to the candidates to appear in NEET as stated in the judgment delivered by Hon’ble Supreme Court of India on NEET.
- The duration of NEET is 3 hours and no entry is allowed after the allotted reporting time.
What is the Syllabus of NEET?
The Medical Council of India (MCI) announced the syllabus for the NEET-UG in 2011 which had been initially published as a draft to invite feedback from other stakeholders. The syllabus for NEET-PG is the same as that of the MBBS course described in the MCI Regulations concerning Graduate Medical Education, 1997. The MCQs for the exam will be based on the MBBS syllabus, as will the knowledge that needs to be acquired during the internship period, which is also described in said Regulations. The distribution of questions, model questions and method of tie breaking for ranking have been placed on the website, as well as in the Prospectus.

What is the pattern of NEET?
The Entrance Examination consists of one paper containing 180 objective type questions (four options with single correct answer or MCQs) from the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology) to be answered on the specially designed machine-gradable sheet using Blue/Black Ball Point Pen only. Each correct answer will get 04 marks and for each incorrect response, 01 mark will be deducted from the total score. Thus, paper will be of total 180×4 = 720 marks.
What is the minimum and maximum age for appearing in NEET exam 2016-17?
- The minimum age of candidate is 17 years completed at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year MBBS/BDS Course.
- The upper age limit for a candidate seeking admission under 15% All India Quota seats in Government Medical Colleges through National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) is 25 years as on 31st December of the year of the entrance examination. Further provided that this upper age limit shall be relaxed by a period of 5 (five) years for the candidates of Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward Classes.
- There is no upper age limit for candidates appearing in the NEET for State Quota seats. However, admission shall be subject to the prevailing norms in each State/UT.
How to remit fee for NEET-UG?
The examination fee for NEET-UG can be remitted in the following manner:

What is the difference between AIPMT and NEET examination?
NEET is a single eligibility cum entrance examination namely ‘National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for admission to MBBS/BDS courses’ in each academic year. AIPMT was conducted by CBSE for selection of candidates for admission to 15% seats under All India Quota. With the introduction of NEET, the said examination will replace AIPMT and other similar Under Graduate level Medical Entrance Examinations.
