What are the best options for postgraduate education abroad after MBBS from India?

There are many good Medical Universities in each country of the world where you can do Post graduation after MBBS.
However, please note that Medical Council of India (MCI) does not recognize Post-Graduate done from many countries.
PG from countries like Ukraine, Russia, China, Kyrgyzstan, Philippines is not approved by Medical Council of India (MCI), though MCI has approved MBBS from these countries.
Medical Council of India has approved PG only from these 5 countries – USA, UK, Canada, Australia & New Zealand.
But an MBBS graduate from India is not eligible for direct admission to PG in these countries.
Entry requirements for Post-graduation after MBBS from India are different for these countries – in some cases you have to do PG in India or some other country to be able to apply at these Universities – for example USA – where after PG one has to apply for Residency and Residency is also not easy to get.
And above all you have to clear these countries local licensing exams to be eligible. For example, in case of USA – one has to clear United States Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) which has 3 steps:
  1. USMLE 1 – which can be cleared during MBBS studies.
  2. USMLE 2 A & B – can be attempted during Post Graduation.
  3. USMLE 3 – during residency in USA.
A candidate can appear for USMLE 1 and 2 A & B anywhere in the world, but USMLE 3 can be attempted only when the candidate is in USA.
